Kimberly Allison

Guitarist KIMBERLY ALLISON has been an active guitarist and music educator for over two decades.  She started performing as a teenager in Kansas City before moving to Los Angeles. She graduated cum laude from The University of Southern California with a degree in studio/jazz guitar. While at USC, she received a merit scholarship and an award for professional leadership and service within the department. Kim also graduated with honors from the Musician’s Institute (GIT) of Hollywood, CA. She has toured the U.S. and Canada, playing events such as The Portland Rose Festival, The Playboy Jazz Festival, The Santa Monica Twilight Concert Series, The Irvine Lake Blues Festival, The Burnaby British Columbia Blues Festival, Palm Springs Women's Jazz Festival, and the Long Beach Blues Festival to name a few.

She has shared stages with artists such as Robben Ford, The Neville Brothers, Johnny Winter, Saxophonist Joe Houston, and Grammy-winning Pianist/Vocalist Diane Schuur. Kim has released two solo albums that gained national and international airplay. Kim’s ability to move from a tough, aggressive blues-rock groove to a more cerebral, fusion-minded approach to the occasional soul-jazz/hard bop number has made for some unpredictable albums that are truly unique and cutting-edge.

In 2008, Kim wrote an educational blues guitar method book, and her second book, Fingerboard Geometry, was published and released in 2023.
