Celia Chavez

Vocalist CELIA CHAVEZ started her career in the clubs and studios of Seattle, New York, and Los Angeles and eventually toured internationally with celebrity, Enrique Iglesias as his romantic duet partner. Her brand of wistful lyricism and crystalline vocal delivery is showcased with her solo songwriter persona, Babilonia,  as well as five previous EPs, an LP, and singles released under her name.

Celia has harmonized with artists as diverse as Pink, Seal, actor Ewan McGregor, Brandon Flowers of the Killers, jazz chanteuse Melody Gardot, groove collective Bad Bad Not Good, and reggae legend Burning Spear — at venues such as the former Staples Center, Wembley Stadium and Madison Square Garden. On television, Celia appeared on the Tonight Show, MTV VMAs, Later…With Jools Holland, and at Randy Rainbow’s New Orleans gay wedding on FX’s series Better Things. An expert vocal coach and enthusiastic teacher of vocal harmony, she helped create pro-level self-recording and studio performance courses as co-founder of Empowered Singer Workshops. She is a published writer, Music Editor for Womancake Magazine and was long-listed for the International 2024 Fish Poetry Prize judged by former U.S. Poet Laureate Billy Collins.
